2014 Dead Zone prediction

As the Thrash lab plans our to return to the Northern Gulf of Mexico for the 2014 shelfwide cruise to measure seasonal bottom water hypoxia, Nancy Rabalais and her team have released their model predictions for the size of the so called “dead zone” this year. The long and the short of it: the zone of hypoxia will be average, which means Connecticut-sized! The NOAA press release is HERE and the detailed report is HERE.
