Rachel Clifford is joining our lab as Ph.D. student after working most recently as a TA in the Marine Biological Laboratory Semester in Environmental Science. Prior to that she worked with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife as well as the USGS on various marine animal conservation efforts including groundfish and sea otters. She graduated from Franklin and Marshall College in 2018 and during her time there also worked on coral bleaching with Dr. Peter Fields and had an independent research project studying sulfur and carbon cycling in “pink berry” bacterial consortia. She is also a musician and theater buff, rounding out a growing cadre of scientist/performing artists in the group. We’re thrilled to have you on the team Rachel (and welcome back to CA)!
