Anna Weiss is joining the USC MBBO Ph.D. program as a Levine-Thrash co-advisee. Anna has been working in industry (Applied Molecular Transport) for the last couple years after graduating from Oberlin College in 2017. There she did chemical research on oil paints and Bowerbird paint using chromatography, mass-spec, and metabolomics. She also had summer and winter research projects at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, Columbia University, to characterize historical wind shift patterns in recent Earth history. Anna accelerated her excitement about marine microbiology during the CIEE Bonaire Tropical Marine Ecology and Conservation Program in 2017 where she also obtained Rescue and AAUS SCUBA certifications. We’re excited to have you in the lab Anna!
